Solidaridad Internacional Trinitaria presente con los cristianos perseguidos de Irak
En estos últimos días, el Presidente de Solidaridad Internacional Trinitaria, SIT-General, ha querido estar presente en la vida cotidiana de los cristianos perseguidos y refugiados en Erbil (Irak). Conocer el drama de la persecución y el abandono que sufren por parte de los Organismos Internacionales ha sido la realidad más evidente que ha comprobado.
Todo comenzó cuando una bomba cayó en la ciudad de Qaraqosh matando a una mujer y sus dos hijos. Al observar que la seguridad no era buena a causa de las bombas, toda la población decidió irse a Erbil para refugiarse, esperando que la lucha entre el autodenominado Estado Islámico y el ejército del Gobierno terminase por expulsar al ISIS. De hecho, anteriormente ya habían estado los terroristas 3 días en esa ciudad cristiana, pero el ejercito consiguió derrotarlos y expulsarlos. Ahora se esperaba que sucediese lo mismo y que el ejercito volviera a sacar a los terroristas, por lo que las personas de Qadaqosh se fueron prácticamente dejando todo en sus casas esperando volver esos mismos días.
Inexplicablemente, el ejército gubernamental se retiró (quizás por ser una ciudad cristiana, por lo que no merecía defenderse nuevamente), dejando libremente que el ISIS tomase definitivamente la ciudad. Más de dos años han pasado desde entonces, y las personas que llegaron para pocos días a Erbil, han tenido que volver a comenzar una vida desde el vacío, ya que habían dejado todo en sus casas. Las imágenes del éxodo masivo de toda la ciudad de Qaraqosh ayudan a imaginar la situación en la que se encontraron todos los cristianos cuando llegaron a Erbil: gente durmiendo por las calles, buscando un poco de refugio, esperando que todo acabase para volver a sus casas…. Al final, la esperanza se terminó y comenzó la desesperación y el abandono. Solamente la Iglesia fue la que organizó campos de refugiados, distribuyó comida, creo dispensarios con medicinas para los enfermos que solo habían traído las suyas para pocos días, alquilaron casas para abrir guarderías, compraron contenedores para alojar a familias….
Hoy Qaraqosh ha sido liberada del Estado Islámico, pero las casas están derrumbadas o quemadas. No es posible vivir allí. Los terroristas islámicos se han encargado que antes de abandonar la ciudad, ésta quedase imposibilitada para vivir en ella. Al fin y al cabo era una ciudad de mayoría cristiana y Occidente (Europa, América…) no iba a hacer nada para que los cristianos vuelvan a sus casas.
Solidaridad Internacional Trinitaria está llevando proyectos desde hace años para ayudar a los refugiados. Ayudas para la creación de guarderías (SIT-España-Sur), construcción de dispensarios y pequeños hospitales (SIT-España-Norte), mantenimiento y alimentación de los refugiados (SIT-France-Canadá), primeras necesidades y alimentación a recién nacidos (SIT-General). La Familia Trinitaria no olvida nunca a aquellos que son la razón de la existencia de la Orden y Familia Trinitaria, los perseguidos a causa de su fe en Cristo. Por ello, seguimos luchando para que sea posible la libertad religiosa en los países donde no existen. Los trinitarios y trinitarias creemos en ello. Es nuestro carisma, es nuestro motivo de existencia.

INTERNATIONAL SIT IS PRESENT AMONG THE PERSECUTED CHRISTIANS IN IRAK
The last few days, the President of Solidarity International Trinitarian – General SIT – has wanted to be present in the everyday life of the persecuted Christians and refugees in ERBIL (Irak). He has wanted to know the drama of the persecution and of neglect that the Christians are suffering from the International Organisms. This fact has been an evident reality that the President of International SIT has seen.
All began when a bomb fell in the city of QARAQOSH and killed a woman and two sons. Seeing that security was bad due to the bombs, the whole town decided to go to ERBIL to take some refuge. They expected that the fight between the self-nominated Islamic State and the army of the Government would finish expelling the ISIS. In fact, the terrorist have been there for three days before but the army have defeated and expel them. Now they expected that the same would occur and that the army would expel the terrorists again. Actually all the people of Qadaqosh left practically everything in their homes because they expected to return after a few days.
Without any explanation, the army of the Government withdrew (perhaps because it was a Christian town and it was not worthy of defend it again). so, ISIS freely got the town definitely. From then on, more than two years have passed, and the people who went to Erbil for a few days had to return to begin a new life from nothing, because they had left everything in their homes. The photographs of the massive exit of the whole town of Qaraqosh help to imagine the situation in which all the Christians found themselves when they returned to Erbil: people sleeping in the streets, seeking some refuge and expecting that all would finish so that they could return to their homes… In the end, all the hope finished and a great despair and abandon began.
Only the Church has organized camps of refugees, has distributed food, has created dispensaries with medicines for the seek who have brought some for a few days. The Church has rented out some houses to open schools for children and has bought big containers to lodge families…
Today Qaraqosh is free from the Islamic State, but the houses are pulled down or burned.. To live there is not possible. The Islamic terrorists have taken care, that before they abandoned the town, it would be impossible to live in it. Actually, it was a town where most of the people were Christians and the western countries (Europe and America…) would not do anything for the Christians to return to their homes.
International SIT is having projects for many years to help the refugees. It is giving help to create child-schools (SIT-SOUTH SPAIN. It is building dispensaries and small hospitals (SIT, NORTH-SPAIN) It is giving food for the refugees (SIT-CANADA- FRANCE). It is taking care of the first needs and food for the newly born (GENERAL SIT). The Trinitarian Family never forgets those who are the principal reason of the existence of the Order and of the Trinitarian Family, the persecuted for their faith in Christ. We go on fighting for that: IT IS POSSIBLE TO FEEL FREE ABOUT THE OWN FAITH IN THE COUNTRIES IN WHICH THAT IS NOT POSSIBLE AT THE MOMENT. The Trinitarian men and the women believe in that. It is our charisma and the reason of our existence.
