Christians continue to be murdered around the world

From the SIT we have been denouncing the situation of Christians in the world for many years; They are persecuted, harassed, murdered… while they do not receive the necessary help or useful change from the power that grants them religious and cult freedom. On this occasion, we will focus on the situation of three countries: Azerbaijan, Pakistan and Burkina Faso.

For about two months, Azerbaijan, a Muslim-majority country, has intensified the siege of 120,000 Christians in Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh), whose supply routes it cut in December 2022. The only access route was the Lachin highway, but The passage or check point has been blocked by Azerbaijani troops and they do not allow essential products to pass through. The objective is for Christians to be left without food, drink or basic products in a siege that isolates and kills Christians.

In Pakistan, where, in Punjab province, a Christian couple has been accused of blasphemy, raising alarm about the misuse of the country’s controversial religious law, less than a month after mobs attacked more than 80 Christian homes and 19 churches in the same province. There is continued misuse of the blasphemy law against Christians. These incidents are occurring as part of a “gradual genocide” of Christians in Pakistan against Christians.

In Burkina Faso, they live in real terror due to Islamic terrorism in the region in recent years. Christians are affected daily by the terrible actions of Al Qaeda and the Islamic State. In 2022, Burkina Faso was the country with the most attacks against Christians in the world and the data for 2023 is not better, on the contrary, Christians have experienced the worst attacks on churches and Christian communities.
