A woman is persecuted in Vietnam for her faith in Christ

The situation in Vietnam is vulnerable for persecuted Christians as local political leaders use their power to threaten and punish anyone who appears to deviate from the imposed culture or beliefs, and therefore being Christians is punished and persecuted.

In the case of a Christian woman, a believer from a tribe in the central-north of the country is living a nightmare because her family, both her parents, her in-laws and her husband, are doing everything possible for him to renounce her faith in Jesus. “They kept pressuring me to abandon my beliefs and sign a document declaring that she voluntarily renounced my faith in Jesus,” she revealed. “But I didn’t pay attention to them.”

“Standing firm in my beliefs despite the pressure I received from all sides, my in-laws took me back to my parents, hoping that they would convince me to reject my Christian faith.” “When I said no, they told me they would kick me out and not let me come home,” she recalls. “I am very afraid, but I will not give up my faith.”

The woman begged her parents to allow her to stay a few days while she reflected on her decision, but then they kicked her out along with her three-year-old son. Both her immediate family and her in-laws want to expel her from the community and turn her over to the local police.

Therefore, she is thinking about taking her son and fleeing Vietnam. “I don’t want to stay here and have to give up my faith. I want to follow Jesus no matter what happens,” declares this persecuted Christian in Vietnam. “I want to flee with my son and seek refuge in another country where my sister is, but I have no money and my son does not have a passport.” The persecution that Christians receive is extreme, even in their closest circle they have to live experiences like those of this Vietnamese woman.
