The Pope meets with Hungary to reconcile on the situation in Ukraine and persecuted Christians

The Pope met with the president of Hungary, Katalin Novák, to discuss various issues. Among them the war in Ukraine and the situation of persecuted Christians in the world. Along these lines, the Holy Father has stressed the importance of religious freedom and the terror that Christians endure in many parts of the world.

After other statements and words, the Pope continues to insist on the need to end the war in Ukraine and establish a definitive peace. Just as he encourages countries and states to protect Christians around the world who continue to live the horror of the lack of religious freedom. Countries like Nigeria, India, North Korea, China… continue to persecute, kill and insult Christian communities. Today, the attention they receive from political institutions and positions of power is insufficient, and they continue to do nothing to improve this situation. Christians in many countries suffer terrorist attacks daily and are still unable to lead a peaceful and stable life.

From the SIT, we fight to give them a voice and encourage different entities to collaborate to alleviate this situation in which many Christian families suffer. In humanitarian emergency situations, such as Covid or the war in Ukraine, Christians are always the most disadvantaged since they do not have the protection of any state institution or organization. For this reason, from the SIT we continue to provide this help and try to improve the living conditions of Christians who fear for their lives and that of their families. We are committed to achieving religious freedom in the world and for Christians to be free for their faith.
